Wood is love.

This is really happening.

Finally.

After a gazillion trials and print tests, ross (credit is all his, of course) has finally got everything right. The paper size, margins, color, font size, everything! Yay!

Can't wait to make the actual invites! Next stop, envelopes.

Wicked post-valentine date

Yup. We didn't want to add to add to the valentine crowd, so we had dinner at home instead.

We didn't forget to celebrate though. And our celebration cost us more than what we normally spend on a luxurious date, but what the hell... It was wicked!

Despite the not so good seats because the place was packed, ross and i still had so much fun. Everything--my aching feet, expensive tickets and seats, overly eager us taking a cab to MBS, smelly seatmates--was worth it.

Extending the Holidays....

Ross surprised me last night by giving me my birthday/christmas gift.  Oh what joy when he, again, plotted out a way to hide his gift and let me find it...

I was actually in "accounting" mode last night for our wedding funds, when he asked me to get one of the angry birds stuffed toy.  The toys were all behind me, so when I lifted one pillow, I saw this...

I really thought it had chocolates.  I was thinking of whether I mentioned some type of chocolate that I really wanted from that store, but I couldn't think of any.

I removed the staples one by one and saw a box inside.  I was about to say, "ay sana Kindle nalang..." when I took the box out and saw this...

Oh my God.  I instantly knew what it was.  And the first thing that ran into my mind was "How the hell did he order it?"

This is my new toy...

Waaahhhh!!!

Waaahhhh!!!!

I've been wanting to buy a Kindle for a very long time now.  I miss reading.  But the prices of the books here in Singapore are just crazy expensive.  I couldn't bring my books here because...where the hell would I place them?  I don't even want to think about paying hundreds of dollars for a box or excess baggage.  It's just not practical.

So I resorted to ebooks.  But it's really a pain for me reading from a computer.  I tried using my iphone, and although it was okay at first (with all the swiping gestures as if I'm really holding a real book), the small screen was just difficult and painful to the eyes after a while. Then I remembered there was Kindle.  I started looking into it and instantly loved the ink look as if it's a real paper.  Sadly, it can only be bought through Amazon using a US credit card.  I was thinking of asking my titas to buy one for me, but how would I get it from them?  Then Din told me that Qisahn was selling Kindles.  I checked their website, but their Kindles were $40-$50 more than the actual price from Amazon.

Anyway, I didn't know that Ross has already ordered one.  How?  I don't know.  I kept asking him how he ordered it, who ordered it, but he wouldn't say a word.  Haha!  Thank you, bebe!!!

Kindle is love.  Unlike an ipad which I have to hold with both hands for me to read, I can easily hold this in one.  And I really really love the ink technology that they used.  It makes the texts very clear even if there's not much light around.  OMG.  Kindle is love. Haha!!

Merry Rainy Christmas

Merry rainy christmas!!!

It's been raining very hard, almost all day/week here in Singapore. But i love it. I love the strong windy feel, except only when we're commuting.

-----------------------

Because we forgot to take pictures of our gifts (unopened) with our teeny weeny christmas tree and our noche buena last night, we only have our christmas leftover brunch today.

Parang pang-hotel lang haha!!

pinterest

My new addiction.

I signed up with them two months ago.  And when they sent me an invite, I realized I had to have a Facebook or Twitter account to be able to log in.  I think they have just started then and that was the only way to finish the signing up process and to log in.  But since I was in no way going to set up a Facebook account, I forgot about it.

Then, a few days ago when I had the urge to compile pegs for the wedding, I remembered Pinterest.  That's when I finally decided.  Ha!  Buti nalang Ross has a Facebook account.  I asked him if I could sign up using his account, and he said yes!  Well, he didn't really say yes.  More of like:

Me:  bebe facebook account mo yun ililink ko dun sa isang site ha.
Me:  bebe anong password mo?
Him:  complicated yung password ko eh.
Him:  nasa iphone mo. (he installed the facebook app in my phone, but it's his account)
Me:  san? kasi nag-sign up ako dun sa pinterest para makagawa ng mood boards at kuha ng kung ano-anong pictures.  kelangan ilink sa facebook. nung niclick ko yun link pinapa-sign in ako.
Me:  kelangan ko ng password.
Him: (gives password)
And now, I'm addicted.  It's a repository of all things cute and beautiful and dreamy and everything.

It's like cat socrates and art friend and paper market and the paper craft stores in novena velocity mall.  hay...

Confirmed!!!

Finally!

Nabunutan kami ng tinik pareho, lalo na si ross. I know what the extension of his probation does...uhm DID...to his self-esteem.

But we're just so glad now that he's confirmed. At least he'll get to enjoy the benefits, medical and all. He'll be able to work better now kasi wala na syang iniisip at wino-worry.

Oh, and he got an increment in his salary!!! How lucky can we get. (yes, i'm mababaw).

Thank you Lord. Sobrang salamat po!!!

the proposal

we can be one of those weird couples that even the supposedly most romantic moments tend to happen in the most ridiculous timing.

ross proposed around 3am.  i think.  i couldn't really tell for sure because my mind was in a daze from having woken up to finish our laundry.  yes, we had to finish the laundry at 3am.  mind you, he volunteered to finish the laundry himself after i told him that i wanted to sleep already.  when i woke up, i saw him sleeping beside me, cuddled up in his bolster.

so i woke him up.  no, i'm not a cold-hearted girlfriend who would wake his boyfriend up just to hang washed clothes.  it's just that the bamboo poles to which we hang our clothes for drying are too heavy for me, especially at 3 in the morning.  so there.  anyway, i woke him up but went ahead outside.

after maybe 5 or 10 minutes, he went out and helped me with the laundry.  after finishing the laundry, he pushed me to go back inside our room.  and that's when i saw the drama.  music was playing from our tv along with a slideshow of our pictures.  and candles were everywhere in the room.  and flower petals were all over our made bed.  the first thought i had was, "too many candles, not safe.  fire."  yes, i'm weird like that.  i asked him what it was all about, but he only moved me to dance.  it was also our fourth anniversary so i thought it was because of that.  it wasn't the first time that ross had made such tremendous effort to celebrate our anniversary, so i didn't think of anything else.

he asked me to sit on the bed, and then he started making a speech.  i was starting to feel nervous then.  i had a gut feel that he was about to propose.  then, i couldn't remember if i blinked or i looked away for 0.5 seconds, but when i looked at him again, the ring was right in front of me.  and then he asked.  i couldn't answer right away.  of course, i wanted to say yes but i couldn't open my mouth.  that was the first time i literally had mixed emotions.  happy. scared. surprised. and maybe everything else in between.  i had so many thoughts in my head at that time.  i was even thinking of what the ring would look like.  and if i would like it.  and how would i tell him if i didn't.  the weirdo that i was even had the idea of not answering at all and just letting him speak.  but, the weirdo that i am spoke and said "seryoso ka?"

i don't know what happened afterwards.  i couldn't remember if i spoke or if he did.  all i remember was he asked me again and i nodded.

yes, we're (actually, more of i am) not the traditional romantics, and i could be the crappiest girlfriend-being-proposed-to.  but what the heck.  i would re-live that moment over and over.

post-valentine post

i almost forgot.

ross and i watched zsazsa zaturnnah ze musikal last valentine's. it was sooo funny and so good. i loved everything about it. the cast was very good. i especially loved the guy who played didi :)

it was a good thing we got good seats. i believe the P700 ticket (for the front and center seats) were worth it.

they will be presenting the musical again on march 7.

(photo from here)

oh, but before that, we watched push. the movie was okay. i agreed to watch it because i liked the trailer, and i was curious to see the change in dakota fanning's character. but, the movie was quite a drag. and somehow open-ended. so....
it's okay.

(photo from here)

and because it was valentine's day, sm cinemas gave coupons to claim cupcakes from frostings. they are so so good. the cupcakes that came with the coupon were mini cupcakes. ross got the smores flavor, i got the swiss chocolate. oh my god. the bread was so soft, but it didn't crumble when you bite into it like the other cupcakes. the flavor was so good. they're quite pricey thought, especially the regular-sized cupcakes.
(the first one was banana peanut butter, then smores, then swiss chocolate... more pictures here)

Thursday, November 27

this is how ross and i celebrated his birthday in advance...

he had tocino and i had longganisa meal for breakfast here...
then, we went to greenbelt to have ice cream here... he ordered the macadamia ice cream with nutella and choco mallows. i had the ferrero ice cream with reese's and cookie dough...

because we had time to spare before the movie starts, and because we were getting sleepy by then, he had coffee in here...

we watched this movie. i love the pigeons...

then, we moved to glorietta to have dinner here... i like how they turned heaven and eggs into a rock star haven. they changed everything -- from the interior design to the tables and chairs, even the design of the menu. but i miss the swing :(
this does not include the minutes we spent outside the greenbelt cinema to take a look at the posters, and ross lying on one of the benches. we also dropped by powerbooks (again, to pass time time while waiting for the movie) where the guard approached us and asked ross to sit properly on the bench (because again, he was lying). after the movie, we went to gold crest in glorietta to buy his PSP grip at screen protector. oh, and we also bought chips from one of the candy stores in greenbelt.

yup, we celebrated his birthday in advance mostly by eating :)
