time out

i got this from a forwarded e-mail from one of my grade school friends. i'm posting it because i find most of it funny. and because i love bob ong's ideologies..hehe.. i will probably read his ABNKKBSNPLA KO again after my finals...

i like #6 and #19 the most :)

BOB ONG’S PHILOSOPHY OF LOVE

19. “Ang pag-ibig parang imburnal…nakakatakot mahulog…at kapag nahulog ka, it’s either by accident or talagang tanga ka."

this is how ross and i celebrated his birthday in advance...

he had tocino and i had longganisa meal for breakfast here...
then, we went to greenbelt to have ice cream here... he ordered the macadamia ice cream with nutella and choco mallows. i had the ferrero ice cream with reese's and cookie dough...

because we had time to spare before the movie starts, and because we were getting sleepy by then, he had coffee in here...

we watched this movie. i love the pigeons...

then, we moved to glorietta to have dinner here... i like how they turned heaven and eggs into a rock star haven. they changed everything -- from the interior design to the tables and chairs, even the design of the menu. but i miss the swing :(
this does not include the minutes we spent outside the greenbelt cinema to take a look at the posters, and ross lying on one of the benches. we also dropped by powerbooks (again, to pass time time while waiting for the movie) where the guard approached us and asked ross to sit properly on the bench (because again, he was lying). after the movie, we went to gold crest in glorietta to buy his PSP grip at screen protector. oh, and we also bought chips from one of the candy stores in greenbelt.

yup, we celebrated his birthday in advance mostly by eating :)

houston, we have a problem...

i don't know what i did.
i had two versions of microsoft office.
and so, i uninstalled the older version.
then,
the newer version wouldn't open.
and so, i downloaded an installer.
but the installer wouldn't freaking install.
huhuhuhuhu!!!!!

now, i don't have any microsoft office program!!!

healthy dinner

Ross and I have somehow agreed weeks before that we're not going to eat rice anymore. This is one of our so-called sacrifices so as to lose weight.

But who wouldn't be tempted to eat rice when you find out as soon as you get home that you have kare-kare or kaldereta or steamed lapu-lapu or steamed crab for dinner? And so, for the past two weeks (although it wasn't an everyday thing) I've been eating rice at night.

Tonight is different though. Before I headed home, I dropped by Kenny Rogers and bought their sandwiches for dinner. At first, I was thinking of getting their traditional roasted chicken meals, but I wanted to eat something different. This was my first time to taste their sandwiches. I bought their Salmon and Cream Cheese Grilled sandwich and Tomato, Pesto and Mozzarella Grilled sandwich for mama.

The salmon sandwich was heaven. For P158, it was worth it.

Why him?

(c/o Philippine Daily Inquirer)

Why him? Why? Why? Why?

It was bad enough that Gloria Arroyo won the presidency. Worse, that MannyVillar was voted as Senate President. So, what the heck is happening to the Philippines that they chose Enrile to preside over the Senate now?

As many analysts say, this may well be the start of the Charter Change. Waahhh!!! How much longer are we going to tolerate this?

i had a hair spa today...

...because starting next week, we'll be rating 2300 files
...because i need to make my synthesis paper outline by wednesday
...because i have to write a 15-page paper
...because we still have to make a script for our shoot
...because hopefully, by next month, i'll be earning at least P14K (courtesy of rating)
...because i already want to plan our christmas shopping
...because my hair goes berserk every morning

i'm craving for donuts again :)

We just got the news that by next month, we will be rating around TWO THOUSAND AND THREE HUNDRED SPEAKING TEST FILES. They are the meanest slave-drivers ever. This means I won't be celebrating Christmas again. This means I will be sleeping for only a couple of hours again. This means more money.

As Ross said, we better milk those @#$ing koreans while we still can. Milk them every opportunity we got. That's the only way we can get back at them, and get all our efforts compensated.

This just serves them right. They don't feel any guilt or shame whenever they delay our salaries, or whenever they wash their hands off their responsibilities. Yeah, that just serves them right. I've just had enough. It's time to get out of there. I've been harassed for too long now.

I won't be working for koreans again.

amazing race asia 3

Of course, I want the Philippines to win...

...but I find him cute, so I'm also rooting for him :)

this is how i pass the time while rating...

and by rating i mean listening endlessly to koreans talk, ramble, rant, make weird noises, moan (yes, i mean that), and do some other weird stuff on their recorders as they answer our speaking tests.

ideally, i shouldn't be doing anything else while rating so i can concentrate and hear the responses accurately. but if i do nothing else, i would definitely fall asleep on the first file.

anyway, i got to know of the mystery case files games through my cousin. i'm not a gamer. i'm not really into playing psp or any other kind of console. i enjoy playing java games though. (i played this really cool surgeon game, but i haven't finished it yet because i my patient kept dying hehe..) so, back to MCF, i asked ross to download the games for me so i can play with them while working yay!

now, i am blind

So I guess, it's a good think I made those worksheets for my Literature class. I got a 3.0! Ha!

This Lit class, which I am taking up with Naomi, is, so far, the most time-consuming subject I've ever had. We have to read like one whole book in a week (okay, two for some...but two weeks aren't still enough). The stories I've read so far are great. Masterpieces. But some just really brings me headache. Like Margaret Atwood's Blind Assassin. The story is great...almost exceptional. The writing is wonderful. But it's just confusing and difficult to read. It's a story that tells of another story, and it has another story inside it. The way the story is structured made me want to skip some chapters (but then again, that wouldn't be a good idea). I was more inclined to find out what really happened to Laura than read the love story of the blind assassin and the mute girl. The book is 500+ pages long, and there is no way one can carefully read the whole thing in two weeks.

Anyway, I've managed to finish it. Now, I have to read Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the Time of Cholera. And I have to finish it by Saturday. gas! I've actually read this before. But I think I forgot what the story is about. Oh well....

Yeah, I'm really glad I did the worksheets.

born again

I (think) I missed doing this. Hopefully, this one will stay for good. :)
