Testing Paper mache

For the past few days (actually, weeks), i've been looking into buying/doing something to make our wedding more personal kuno. I've thought of buying scrabble pillows from etsy, but they're just too expensive. Then i told ross i'll just sew (!) our initials onto fabric cushion covers (yeah, me sew!) and we would just use the square pillows we have right now. But we couldn't find any blank canvas that's already sewn as a cushion cover, and the fabrics here at singapore are pricey as well.

Then i saw wooden letters, again on etsy. Then i thought of buying them. In fact, i already inquired with some of the sellers, but the shipping charges would cost more than the product itself. Then. I remembered one groom wawie who made paper mache. Wow. Bat ngayon ko lang naisip yun. So i told ross i wanted to do paper mache for the wedding. And then sample exercise muna namin yun para kay sean (and gift ko na din for him). And so, i spent friday night tracing and cutting and taping cartons. Ooh i was pleased with the result.

Why did i ever start my so-called sample exercise with an S? It's one of the hardest, if not the hardest, and the most curvaceous letter in the alphabet! Ang hirap! Pero buti nalang i started with it as everything else was relatively easier afterwards.

Here it is with the second layer of newspaper.

I made a capital P last night for mama and patrick but hindi pantay yun dikit ko so it wouldn't stand. Oh well. More practice. Ours should be perfect for the wedding.

It was very messy and time consuming. I didn't notice the time passed though. I slept at 4am last saturday nga!

Sabi ko nga kay ross, i could do this all week. Nakaka-relax sya:)
